TECHNICAL REGULATIONS AND RULES

The following items are required before a rider can practice or compete at a sanctioned event

  • Drain coolant/anti-freeze from radiator and / or overflow tank and replace with distilled water. (water wetter is allowed)
  • Remove all lights and mirrors from street going motorcycles, if they cannot be removed, they must be completely taped over. Remove side stand.
  • All machines must pass a visual safety inspection and have no fluid leaks or loose parts.
  • All motorcycles must have numbers on the bike before they come to tech or are allowed on track. At combined races with National classes, in the event of a number conflict, AMA west riders will need to add a “W” to their competition number.
  • Appropriate, minimal safety riding apparel must be worn while on track.
  • Supermoto Specific or DOT performance tires only, NO Knobby or dual-purpose tires except under 110cc.
  • Parents, legal guardians, or authorized adults must always remain at the track during participation of any youth event.
 

The following items are no longer required, but highly recommended:

  • Hand Guards or a comparable brake lever guard
  • Axle Sliders, Peg Sliders
  • Drill and safety wire drain bolts and filler caps
  • Overflow catch can or bottle (securely fastened)

RACE DAY PROTOCOL

Race Day Setup

  • Gates are to remain unlocked during the day and locked at the conclusion of each day.
  • Generators started only if needed and shut down at the end of the day.
  • Conex box opened, and fire extinguishers set out prior to racing. 
  • Scoring Tower (if used) is ONLY open to race control, NOT RACERS.
  • Scoring Tower doors and windows must be closed and locked at the conclusion of each day.
 

Registration Protocol

  • Insurance Adult Waiver form must be signed by every participant and a clear distinction must be made detailing either participant or spectator.
  • Insurance Minor Consent form must be signed by every minor’s parent or guardian and a clear distinction must be made detailing either participant or spectator.
  • Race class entry list sheet MUST be filled out demonstrating full name and bike #.
  • All spectators, racers, and pit area racer assistants MUST buy a pit pass for insurance purposes.
  • Registration volunteers: It is very important that every volunteer signs the insurance waiver release of liability form. All pass fees for volunteers will be covered by Shasta SuperMoto Club.
 

Venue Etiquette – ALL RULES THAT GOVERN THE EVENTS MUST BE FOLLOWED.

  • No motorized cycles, scooters, buggies, etc., are allowed to operate in the pits.
  • A 10 MPH speed limit exists between the front gate and the track.
  • NO ONE may drive onto, over, or through the dragstrip racing surface.
  • Trash must go in proper containers and discarded tires must not be taken off the property by the owner.
  • No alcohol may be sold on the property.
  • Drugs (including prescribed medicinal marijuana) are prohibited on this City of Redding Property. ZERO tolerance.
  • Race day cannot begin without proper medical personnel in place.
  • No person may enter the track without first filling out all the proper paperwork. If the insurance waiver forms are not signed, the person is considered TRESSPASSING.
  • Pets may enter the premises, but they are not allowed on or near the track. When walking your pet inside the premises, all pets must be on a leash. Waste from your pet must be cleaned up immediately and disposed of properly. Pet access is a privilege not a right. Shasta SuperMoto Club reserves the right to deny pet access at any time.
  • Discretion is left to the Board Members of the Shasta SuperMoto Club and reserve the right to remove any and all persons from an event and/or premises and/or the Shasta SuperMoto Club at any time.
